Just in time for the busy Christmas retail period Capital Compactors field engineers and management team went to Nisa Harlow for two days to remove the old waste and recycling equipment as part of its contract with DHL.
Our team and specialist lifting equipment supplier got to work on dismantling the old fully automatic baler and canopy which was conveyor fed outside from inside the building. By lunchtime our engineers had skated the new 15 tonne APK D48 Fully Automatic Baler into the buildings cold store via one of the sites loading bays. Work continued on the new formation which included moving the operation inside the building for better visibility and safety.
During the afternoon the skid outside the building was put into place whilst engineers built the baler up including wiring to the conveyor and safety systems.
Another team worked on the removal of the old compactor, putting into place the new machine which was a dock loading CS3.
Day two was all about setting up the Safetech System which prevents accidents by detecting anyone in danger and shutting down the fully automatic baler. Training on all systems including the new compactor was completed with all documentation electronically stored.
The new APK D 48 Fully Automatic Baler with 30kw motor is supplied to offer DHL and Nisa highly compacted and stackable bales ensuring optimal truck loading by using a unique cutting system preventing material jamming and reducing energy consumption by 40% compared to conventional systems. The steel used on the cutting knives are hardened cut K340 steel giving the system proven long term reliability.
The new compactor reduces site time through the automatic bin tipping system and easy to use controls.
